Charley Castillo and the former members of Presidential Agent’s Office of Organizational Analysis are officially “retired.” But that doesn’t mean they’re out of action…

At a Mexican roadblock, a US Embassy SUV is stopped at gunpoint, three of its passengers murdered, and a fourth kidnapped. Everything points to the drug cartels, especially when the kidnappers say they will return the hostage if a cartel kingpin is released from US federal prison. But when word gets to Castillo and his group of retired spies and special operators, they have their doubts.

They believe that it's a diversion—that the murders and kidnapping were ordered by someone to lure Castillo & Company to their deaths. But even knowing that may not save them. Powerful forces in the US government are arrayed against them as well, and if one side doesn't get them...the other side will.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a trilogy about the land we're drawn to, the family we learn to cherish, and the people we long to love…

With the legends and lore of Ireland running through his blood, falconer Connor O'Dwyer is proud to call County Mayo home. It's where his sister, Branna, lives and works, where his cousin, Iona, has found true love, and where his childhood friends form a circle that can't be broken…

A circle that is about to be stretched out of shape—by a long-awaited kiss.
Meara Quinn is Branna's best friend, a sister in all but blood. Her and Connor's paths cross almost daily, as Connor takes tourists on hawk walks and Meara guides them on horseback across the lush countryside. She has the eyes of a gypsy and the body of a goddess…things Connor has always taken for granted—until his brush with death propels them into a quick, hot tangle.

Plenty of women have found their way to Connor's bed, but none to his heart until now. Frustratingly, Meara is okay with just the heat, afraid to lose herself—and their friendship—to something more. But soon, Connor will see the full force and fury of what runs in his blood. And he will need his family and friends around him when his past rolls in like the fog, threatening an end to all he loves…

"Murder and Deceit in Thailand: everyone has something to hide".......I think the pace of the story is actually just great. The way Phillips develops the story line, the happy go lucky characters, how their paths crisscrossed and the suspense leading to the unexpected "what actually happened". It's a simple thrill. A book to accompany you during that short retreat in the island.

This is truy the best read I've had the past few years. As stated by"People", it is "Like Gone with the Wind, this epic is gloriously entertaining". For me, the superlatives of superb, magnificent, enthralling, spell-binding among others would describe this wonderful piece.

It is the story of Mary Toliver in East Texas 1916. The younger child of two, inherited cotton plantation called Somerset from her father Vernon, following which she has to endure the loss of her only love, her only child and so much more. Worst, her mother who was chose to be broken-hearted for not being given the land, punished Mary in the most chilling fashion. She knitted a bed cover for Mary's 20th birthday and later hang herself with it. The afghan is pink, a color associated with "no forgiveness". The guests remarked "your mother has worked so long and hard for your gift Mary, who can blame her for not wanting to let it go". Oh boy, what horrifying gesture.

The love tale of Mary and Percy Warwick is the most beautiful of love stories I've ever imagined can occur between two beautiful privileged people. Beautiful and the most tragic. The book is especially haunting in the middle. Towards the end, I've just got to be so pissed off with the character of Rachel, Mary's nephew whom she wanted to save from the Somerset curse. I really cannot bring myself to even  sympathize with this Rachel, even when she finally changed her mind about suing Percy for the land ownership. I even like Lucy better. Ahh, there is too much to tell; you would have to read it for yourself. It's a damn thick book, I never thought I'd be able to finish it in one week; the whole 609 pages, and I read the hard copy. But YESSSS, I'm so glad I did. One of my hundreds of favourites scene, is organized by Ollie DuMonts when Mary asked him to marry her so that the child that she conceived with Percy would not be tainted by people's bad mouthing "I cant believe this....to think that you...would marry me...that my most impossible dream has come true. The only blunt to my happiness is Percy...He will be devastated..."
